The Bitcoin rate on Tuesday, March 5, exceeded $69,000 on the largest American exchange Coinbase. The volatility index of the first cryptocurrency also set a new high.

Bitcoin reached an all-time high for the first time since late 2021. The Deribit Volatility Index (DVOL) set a new high since November 2022 at 75.93%. Since the beginning of February 2024, the index has increased by 37.44%.

The fear and greed index reached 90 points, indicating the extreme greed of cryptocurrency market participants. The last time such an indicator was recorded was in February 2021. The historical maximum of the fear and greed index at 95 points was noted at the end of June 2019.

Earlier, analysts at IntoTheBlock reported that for the first time since November 2021, the value of assets on the balance sheet of the vast majority of Bitcoin wallets has increased since the moment of purchase.
