The cold front that spread rain over dry areas of Brazil this week brought a strong mass of cold air of polar origin, which entered the interior of the country. Temperatures close to and a little below 10ºC should occur this Thursday (11) in many areas of the Southeast and Midwest.
According to Climatempo, the southern region has a very sunny and cold day. Many areas in central-southern Paraná, in the highlands, in the mountains and in the west of Santa Catarina, in the mountains and in the plateaus of Rio Grande do Sul, dawn with frost.
The cold also causes fog at dawn in several areas of southern Brazil. With the removal of the extratropical cyclone, there is no risk of dangerous wind in the region. The rain occurs weakly on the coast of Santa Catarina and Paraná, but the sun appears.
In the Southeast, the sun predominates and it is cold in most of the region. The sea gets very rough and it rains on the coast of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with even moderate intensity. Strong wind, with gusts of up to 90 km/h on the north coast of São Paulo and in the center-south of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
It rains with low to moderate intensity in Greater São Paulo, in Vale do Paraíba and in the north coast of Rio de Janeiro. The east of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo spend the day with many clouds, but it shouldn’t rain.
Almost the entire Midwest of Brazil is sunny. High clouds pass through the north of Mato Grosso and Goiás and the Federal District, but the sun appears and it doesn’t rain. The polar air that spreads over the region leaves the temperature low at night and early in the morning.
In the North, a day with lots of sun and no rain. Rain showers occur in north-central Amazonas, in Roraima, Amapá and in the extreme north of Pará. The polar air passes through Acre, Rondônia and southern Amazonas and leaves the temperature mild. It’s cold at dawn.
In the Northeast, the sun predominates and the weather is dry in almost the entire region. A cold front arrives in the south of Bahia and causes rain. Rain showers occur on the coast and in the forest zone between Rio Grande do Norte and Alagoas.
