The mountains of Santa Catarina dawned with frost this Sunday (29), in the Caminhos de Neve region, in São Joaquim, in the Santa Catarina mountain range.
The minimum temperature recorded was 0.9°C, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).
The frost, which was also recorded on Saturday (28), left trees frozen and formed layers of ice on the ground. Watch Video:
However, the intense cold eased throughout the morning, with the minimum temperature rising to 18.5°C at 10am.
In addition to the cold, Santa Catarina should be affected by the heavy rains that hit Rio Grande do Sul in recent days.
The cold front advances across the state, bringing forecasts of rain and gusts of wind for the next few days in regions such as Florianópolis, Vale do Itajaí and Planalto Catarinense.
