The formation of a cold front should alleviate the effects of low humidity affecting parts of Brazil.
At the moment, the region that covers from Paraná, the entire Midwest and Southeast, the southern region of the Amazon and the northeast interior is facing high temperatures and dry weather.
In an interview with CNN this Sunday (10), Paula Soares, meteorologist at Climatempo, explained that this effect was caused by a large mass of dry air that parked for several days in these places.
“The mass was very strong and blocked cold fronts from advancing through the country. They even tried, but they were already diverted to the high seas. So there was no entry of rain, which comes from the thermal shock between a cold mass and a hot one. So the cold couldn’t make its way through those regions,” she said.

The specialist reported that, however, from this Monday (11) a new cold front will begin to form in the south of the country, which will have the strength to break the blockade of the dry air mass.
“This cold front begins to develop on Monday night, in the southern region of Brazil. On Tuesday, she starts to advance. So the South region already has a highlight for rain this week, and the drop in temperature follows”, said Paula.
In the case of São Paulo, which, for example, records humidity of 30% in the capital this Sunday (10), the beginning of the week will still be hot.
“But on Wednesday (13) this cold front will reach the Southeast. It will rain on Wednesday, the weather will close in São Paulo and the temperature will drop well”, said the meteorologist.
“In short, we will have an improvement in air quality. All this pollution will be dispersed, we will have more humidity and drop in temperature, normal and expected characteristics for the winter”, she concluded.
