Cold may have caused the death of a homeless person in São Paulo

A man may have died of cold, in the early hours of this Saturday (20), at Rua Carneiro da Cunha, in Saúde, south of São Paulo.

Employees of the Specialized Social Approach Service provided assistance to homeless people in the locality. However, the individual did not accept to be accepted. With the situation, he was given a blanket.

He had already passed through a prefecture center on August 2, but did not return.

Subsequently, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called to investigate the occurrence of a possible death at the scene, which ended up being confirmed. As the said person was unidentified, the Military Police (PM) was called.

The cause of death can only be determined by the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and the Death Verification Service (SVO), which are carrying out the verification.

Between 6:00 pm on Friday (19) and 5:00 am today, 268 people were referred to shelter services. 110 blankets were also delivered by the city hall.
