Cold weather weakens and temperatures rise again across the country; see weather forecast

The polar air mass that caused record cold temperatures in the Center-South of the country in recent days is moving away, and temperatures are already starting to rise in the region this Thursday (15).

In the Southeast, the forecast is for heat in all capitals. The maximum temperatures are expected to be 28°C in Belo Horizonte, 27°C in São Paulo and 29°C in Rio de Janeiro. In São Paulo, despite the start of the day still being cold, with thermometers marking 14°C, the temperature should rise considerably throughout the day.

Residents of São Paulo should prepare for the so-called “onion effect”, leaving home warmly dressed in the morning, but being able to take off their coats in the afternoon due to the increase in temperature.

Over the weekend, the heat is expected to intensify even more in the capital of São Paulo, with temperatures likely to reach 32°C on Sunday.

In Rio de Janeiro, the outlook is sunny and blue skies until the weekend, with temperatures close to 30°C. The city no longer has a storm surge warning for the coast of Rio de Janeiro, indicating favorable conditions for those planning to go to the beach.

South and Midwest: climatic contrasts

In the South, temperatures are rising compared to recent days, but remain mild in some areas. Florianópolis and Santa Helena, for example, are not expected to exceed 22°C today, with maximum temperatures between 23°C and 25°C until Sunday. Curitiba is an exception, with a forecast of 25°C today and up to 29°C over the weekend.

In the Central-West, the weather is very dry, with humidity levels below 20% in some areas, which represents an alert level. Brasília and Cuiabá are experiencing low humidity, with cold mornings and hot afternoons. In Cuiabá, the situation is even more critical, with humidity levels of just 10% recorded yesterday, the lowest among the country’s capitals.

Rains in the North and Northeast

While the Center-South region heats up, the North and Northeast regions are expected to experience rain. The showers may be heavier between Amazonas and Pará, as well as along the coast of Bahia. In Salvador, the rain will gain strength and may occur at any time of the day.

In Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, the forecast is for rain in the morning, accompanied by strong gusts of wind that could reach 70 km/h. The maximum temperature in the capital of Rio Grande do Norte should be around 28°C.

With the change in weather patterns, it is important that the population remains alert to sudden changes in temperature and the necessary care in each region, whether due to intense heat or expected rain.
