Coldplay: Chris Martin says what the band’s last album will be

The lead singer of the band Coldplay, Chris Martin said the band’s 12th “real album” might be their last — meaning they’re just two albums away from finishing.

“We’re only going to make 12 real albums and that’s for real. I promise,” Martin said in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “Because less is more and, for some of our critics, even less would be even more. It is very important that we have this limit.”

“There are only 12 and a half Beatles albums, and about the same for Bob Marley, then, all our heroes,” he added.

Still, Martin said this doesn’t mean the band will never work together again: “If we do something together after this creatively besides a tour, then it will be something different, or it will be a side thing, or it will be a compilation of things that We weren’t finished.”
