Scores of students have been killed in Nigeria and others remain trapped after their school partially collapsed where exams were being held in central Plateau state today, the national emergency management agency, (NEMA) said. Victims were crying for help under the rubble of the Holy Academy school in Jos, the state capital, and parents were desperately searching for their children, an AFP reporter at the scene said. “A two-storey building housing the Holy Academy (…) in Busa Buzi (…) in Plateau State collapsed this morning, killing many students,” NEMA announced, adding that investigations were ongoing. Authorities did not give a casualty count for the victims, but according to one resident, Chika Obioba, eight people were killed and dozens more injured.
