Who is Colleen Hoover?
Born in Texas, United States, Colleen Hoover 44 years old, has 27 published works, including series, short stories and individual books, most of which are associated with the categories of romance and fiction for young adults or psychological thrillers.
She began self-publishing her books until they were acquired by a publisher. Her first publication was in 2012, starting the series “Metric” at the time without an editor, agent or strategy – nevertheless, it made The New York Times bestseller list.
The following year, she released the sequel to the book – which was also a bestseller – and decided to focus on her writing career. Since then, Hoover has released book after book and has partnered with publishers around the world over the last decade.
The North American author has been in the publishing market for a while, but it was recently that she burst a bubble and started to be included in several best-seller lists around the world – in addition to being cited as one of the most influential people of 2023 by “Time” magazine.
“This is how it ends” (2016) was responsible for the author’s change in status, who already had successful books such as “The Ugly Side of Love” (2014), “November 9” (2015) and “Verity” (2018). Despite having been released eight years ago, the work began to appear in reviews on TikTok in 2021, gained traction in 2022 and led fiction sales that year – there were more than four million copies in 2022 alone.
