A collision between trains in the Palermo neighborhood in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, was recorded this Friday morning, according to Argentine authorities. One line had its circulation interrupted.
Transport Minister Franco Mogetta said the number of people injured was 60. The official also said that the causes of the accident are under investigation, including the possible theft of cables.
In turn, the Emergency Medical Assistance System (SAME) explained that, of these 60 people, 30 were taken to the hospital.
The Ministry of Transport explained that the collision on the San Martin line was between a locomotive and an empty wagon, at 10:31 am local time, at kilometer 4,900 on the Palermo viaduct at Avenida Alcorta.
At the moment, employees of the train company in the Argentine capital are trying to remove people in the formation and the emergency services of the City of Buenos Aires are treating the passengers.
