Collision between two trailers leaves a dead driver in Minas Gerais

One person died after a collision between two trailers on a highway in the interior of Minas Gerais. The accident occurred at km 553 of BR-262

According to the Fire Department, the collision was between a truck loaded with vegetable oil and another that carried a metal axis to a plant in Sao Paulo.

The military informed that when the vegetable oil was reached the truck, which was heading towards Belo Horizonte, it was one of the wheels and the booth in flames. The load material was also leaking.

The other cart had flames in the cabin and fuel tank.

According to the firefighters, the leakage of vegetable oil was contained and fighting the flames. However the driver of the trailer carrying the oil could not leave the vehicle and was already charred upon the arrival of the military.

The driver of the other trailer managed to leave and was served by the highway concessionaire without apparent injuries. After control of the fire and the arrival of the expert, the body was removed and left under the responsibility of the funeral home.

The Federal Highway Police were called to control traffic. Due to the accident it was necessary to institute the stop and follow the total release of traffic.

The causes of the accident will still be cleared.
