Three soldiers were killed by drowning when they were pulled over by rushing river waters during an exercise in Colombia, as announced today by the country’s president, Gustavo Petros. The incident occurred in Hiran, in Central Colombia, about 180 km southwest of Bogota. A group of 11 soldiers had to cross the Magdalena River with “improvised rafts” which they had built “using any means they had at their disposal,” said General Jorge Herdandas of the Colombian Army Special Forces in Blu Radio.
