Colors, lockdown and Easter: what we know so far

The division by colors of the regions remains. This is a certainty for the weeks of Easter, with holidays and red pre-holidays for everyone, however, and also for the following ones. However, in these days there is discussion on how to manage the weeks of April which should be decisive for the fight against the pandemic given that they are the ones in which an increase in vaccinations is expected.

THE COLORS OF EASTER
Red and orange are the only two colors of the regions until April 2nd. For now they are divided as follows: in orange Sicily, Sardinia, Calabria, Basilicata, Molise, Abruzzo, Umbria, Tuscany, Liguria, Bolzano, Valle d’Aosta: in red Puglia, Campania, Lazio, Marche, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli -Venice Giulia, Trento, Lombardy, Piedmont.

From Monday 29 March Tuscany risks red with 250 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. Calabria and Valle D’Aosta are also in doubt. Lombardy (hoping for orange), Piedmont, Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Autonomous Province of Trento, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Puglia and Campania should remain in the red. Lazio, after two weeks in lockdown, goes towards the orange band.

EASTER
The days 3,4,5 April are red for everyone, the eve, Easter day and Easter Monday. Everything is closed: shops, bars and restaurants for which they remain take-away and home. They are only open supermarkets, pharmacies and shops for basic needs. Movements are allowed for reasons of work, health and necessity and there is the possibility to move within the region once a day to reach the homes of friends or relatives only per family unit, two more minors or disabled people. Second homes are reachable according to the decree, but some regions have blocked access to outsiders. The curfew remains from 5 to 22.

AFTER EASTER
Among the hypotheses in the decree to come there are the extension of the closure of some activities for a couple of weeks and instead the reopening of schools, from nurseries to elementary school, even in the red zone, but there are those who push for it to be up to sixth grade. Prime Minister Draghi confirmed this in the Senate. Economy Minister Daniele Franco spoke of a gradual movement towards a more normal situation in May and June.
