Comando Vermelho drug dealer who killed PM arrested in RJ

During an operation, this Friday (28), the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested a Comando Vermelho drug dealer who killed an off-duty military police officer in September 2021.

The prisoner is Welington Tobias Rodrigues da Silva.

According to investigations, PM Daniel Alexandrino de Oliveira left his car at a car wash, near Favela da Coreia and talked to two friends.

Minutes later, according to the PC, several drug traffickers from the location dominated by the criminal faction “Comando Vermelho” arrived armed with rifles and pistols and shot the military police officer several times, who did not resist and died.

The two friends resisted. In a statement, the Civil Police stated that the PM was killed “for the simple fact of being a police officer, at the behest of the leaders of the criminal faction that operate in the locality”.

Four people were indicted and charged with qualified homicide. Two were arrested: Isac Arilson Vieira was already arrested and Welington Tobias Rodrigues was at large until this Friday (28).

According to the Civil Police, the man was hiding in the home of relatives, in the Caixa D’Agua Community, in Nova Iguaçu (RJ), and is serving a preventive arrest warrant. The criminals were sent to a custody hearing.
