“Respect between neighboring countries and maintaining good neighborly relations are the basis for constructive cooperation within the EU,” the European Commission said, referring to the Turkish President’s verbal attack on the Greek prime minister.
Specifically, the Deputy Representative of the Commission, Dana Spinan, when asked by the APE-MPE, stated the following:
“The Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Mitsotakis, is the head of an EU member state government, which is recognized by the whole world. As the European Council has pointed out on many occasions, the EU expects Turkey to make a constructive commitment to the EU and “Respect for neighborly relations and the promotion of good neighborly relations are the basis for constructive cooperation within the EU.”
