Community Asks Candidate For SEC Head To Stop Harassment Of Ripple

Attorney Thomas Hodge asked Gary Gensler to sort out the case against Ripple after his appointment as chairman of the SEC.

The petitioner spoke on behalf of the Ripple community. He urged the candidate for the post of head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission to pay attention to the “harm caused by the actions of the SEC to XRP holders.”

The Ripple community also demanded an investigation into why the lawsuit was filed on the last day of Jay Clayton’s tenure as SEC chairman.

At the time of writing, the petition has collected 2,800 signatures.

At the end of January 2021, Ripple requested information on why the SEC does not classify Bitcoin and Ethereum as securities.

In April, the court granted the company’s petition and ordered the regulator to disclose “interpretation and views” regarding the two largest cryptocurrencies in terms of capitalization.
