Competition Commission: On-the-spot checks in the market of cadastral surveying services

The Competition Commission (“EA”), following its actions in key sectors of the economy, today carried out a sudden on-the-spot check on companies active in the market of cadastral survey services and support services for the creation of a national cadastre, in case of any competing practices of adulteration of tenders with the above object.

The unannounced inspections were carried out at the business premises in the Regions of Attica, Central Macedonia and Western Greece and are a preliminary step in the context of the EA investigation. for the detection of anti-competitive practices based on the provisions of Law 3959/2011.

It should be noted that conducting such audits does not prejudge that companies or associations of undertakings have engaged in anti-competitive conduct nor does it prejudge the outcome of the investigation.

EA, the custodian of the proper functioning of the free market, points out that within the framework of its responsibilities, it will intervene as an immediate priority where necessary and will examine any relevant case that comes to its notice, by submitting a complaint, request for leniency or anonymous relevant information through the secure digital environment (whistleblowing) and will impose very severe administrative sanctions on companies that may apply anti-competitive practices under the provisions of Law 3959/2011 and Articles 101 and 102 TFEU.
