In an interview with CNN this Tuesday (31), the Special Secretary for Productivity and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Economy, Daniella Marques, commented on the speech of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in which he defends the slicing of Petrobras and on the ICMS bill. .
According to Marques, the state-owned company’s current business model “does not benefit the population and does not benefit the Union”. In addition, according to the special secretary, “there is a concentration of Petrobras activities that generate some distortions in fuel prices”.
The secretary also spoke about the bill approved by the Chamber of Deputies that sets a ceiling for ICMS. According to her, “through the project, which we welcome, an attempt is made to establish the essential nature of the fuel”.
Marques countered criticisms made by mayors and governors about possible damage to public accounts. She says that the project is about “putting a ceiling on essentiality, since there is an excess of cash (from the states). I think it lacks commitment to say that there will be a lack of resources for public policies,” she said.
