California authorities are on alert as they search for actor Julian Sands in the San Gabriel Mountains. His tracks were lost when he was hiking with another man.
Julian Sands, 65, was reported missing by his friend last Friday (13/1).
Severe weather in Southern California over the weekend (14-15/1) delayed searches for the actor, who has appeared in more than 150 films and TV series, including ‘The Killing Fields’, ‘A Room with a View’ and ‘Arachnophobia’.
When he went missing, the actor was believed to be somewhere on the popular Baldy Bowl Trail, which leads to the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains.
The family of the missing movie star said he was doing what he loved most when he disappeared and released photos he sent his grandson of him hiking in the Swiss Alps.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, the search to locate him continues with representatives of the local authorities stating that there is no “strict deadline” for ending the mission.
