Concern for marine fuel prices

The new president of the Passenger Shipping Business Association (SEEN) Spyridon Paschalis expressed his concern about the prices of marine fuels today, during the meeting of the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Giannis Plakiotakis with his new administration.

The Minister of Shipping acknowledged that this is a global problem, which has been caused by the pandemic and has worsened due to the crisis in Ukraine, noting that it requires special attention due to the national role of coastal shipping for our country.

He also pledged to discuss the issue with the relevant ministries, in order to consider a package of measures that will improve the situation.

The meeting on behalf of SEEN, except for Mr. Paschalis, was attended by the Vice President of Shipping, Efstratios Apergis, the Vice President of International Voyages, Spyridon Protopapadakis, the General Secretary Theologos Panagiotakis and the Treasurer Dionysis Theodoras.
