In addition to the rally in gas and electricity prices, the rise in oil prices, which is leading to higher fuel prices, is also a matter of great concern.
In the shadow of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, the price of US crude in international markets exceeded the barrier of $ 91 a barrel for the first time since 2014, at the same time that the price of brent remains at a seven-year high above $ 92 the barrel.
The high international prices have as a result in our country observations of increases in fuel prices. Thus, the average price of unleaded reached 1,841 euros per liter, breaking the all-time record held since August 2012. The average price of diesel rose to 1,582 euros from 1,481 on December 31, (an increase of 6.8%) . As for the average price of LPG, it is estimated at 1,046 euros, having increased by 5.2% in the last month. Finally, the price for heating oil is set at 1.24 euros with an increase of 9.7% from the end of December.
At the same time, electricity prices continue to be at high levels with the average wholesale price being today at 214.94 euros / MWh, while yesterday it was at 234.04 euros / MWh and on Friday at 230.43 euros / MWh . It is recalled that the average price in January was 227 euros / MWh price close to the levels of December (235.38 euros / MWh) and November (228.87 euros / MWh).
Finally, in terms of the price of natural gas, it remains high at 82.5 euros / MWh, pushing across Europe the prices of electricity, which remain, in most markets above 200 euros / MWh.
