A cat has been wreaking havoc in a Japanese town. As the Guardian reports, one of the employees at a plating factory in Fukuyama, western Japan, upon arriving at work noticed some brown traces of cat paws on the floor, leading away from a tank of hexavalent chromium, a substance considered extremely carcinogenic. If this substance comes into contact with the skin, it may cause inflammation, while inhalation may cause respiratory problems. Workers at the factory wear masks and gloves to handle the substance, the company said, according to the Asahi Shimbun newspaper.
