A landmine found about 70km off the coast of Romania in the Black Sea is trying to neutralize a group of divers of the Romanian Armed Forces, the Romanian Ministry of Defense announced today. And others mines have been identified in recent days.
Earlier today Turkish authorities secured a mine near the border with Bulgariawhile on Saturday they neutralized another, triggering a powerful explosion north of Istanbul.
Russia’s main intelligence service announced earlier this month that Several mines have been swept into the sea after being cut off by cables near Ukrainian ports. Kyiv denied the allegation, calling it a misinformation and an attempt to block parts of the sea.
Romania borders the Black Sea with Bulgaria, Turkey and Ukraine, which were invaded by Russia a month ago.
The mine was spotted earlier today by fishermen and they informed the Romanian navy, as reported by Reuters and the Athens News Agency.
