Conference of Presidents: Friday the discussion of the political leaders – Monday the examination

The Conference of the Presidents of the Parliament for the planning of the work of the Parliament regarding the case of the surveillances has been completed.

As decided, the Institutions and Transparency Committee will meet on August 22 in order to appoint Mr. Demiris as the new Head of the EYP. It is noted that SYRIZA has already announced that it does not intend to vote for the new Governor of the EYP.

The battle of the political leaders will take place on Friday, in a pre-day debate requested by the president of SYRIZA.

Subsequently, on Monday, the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry, a proposal submitted by PASOK, earlier today, to monitor PASOK’s president, Nikos Androulakis, will be discussed in plenary.

It is recalled that PASOK, in a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament, testified today proposal for the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry for monitoring Mr. Androulakis.

As reported in the meantime, with PASOK’s proposal, SYRIZA also voted in favor of it, as decided earlier by the executive secretariat of the party which met under Alexis Tsipras.

PASOK-KINAL however requested in the morning the immediate convening of the Institutions and Transparency Committee within the current week with a letter to the president of the Commission, Ath. Bura.

As stated in the text of the letter, PASOK-KINAL invites to a hearing: New Governor of EYP Themistoklis Demiris, former Governor P. Kontoleontas, competent prosecutor V. Vlachos, former secretary of the Prime Minister Grigoris Dimitriadis and president of ADAE Christos Rammos .

Strong PASOK reaction: Mr. Mitsotakis wants a cover-up

PASOK-KINAL, with its comment after the conclusion of the Conference of Presidents, reacts to the timetable decided by the governing majority and attacks the Prime Minister: “It is clear that the choice of Kyriakos Mitsotakis is the sterile toxic political confrontation with the ultimate goal of cover-up”.

In the same comment, he states that: “The governing majority, against all the parties, insisted that the pre-day discussion at the level of leaders be preceded and not that the Institutions and Transparency Committee be convened immediately as requested by PASOK-Movement for Change, in order to submit all the data on the unconstitutional surveillance by the National Security Agency of the President of the Movement Nikos Androulakis and the use of the Predator in Greece by the persons whom Mr. Mitsotakis sent as politically responsible, the former General Secretary of the Prime Minister, Grigoris Dimitriadis and the former Commander of the National Security Agency , Panagiotis Kontoleonta, the relevant Ministers, the head of ADAE Christos Rammos, the new Governor of the EYP Themistoklis Demiri and the competent EYP prosecutor of appeals Vasiliki Vlachou”.

The governing majority, against all the parties, insisted that the pre-day discussion at the level of leaders be preceded and not that the Committee on Institutions and Transparency be convened immediately as requested by PASOK-Movement for Change, in order to submit all the evidence for the unconstitutional surveillance by the EYP of the President of the Movement Nikos Androulakis and the use of the Predator in Greece by the persons whom Mr. Mitsotakis sent as politically responsible, the former General Secretary of the Prime Minister, Grigoris Dimitriadis and the former Commander of the EYP, Panagiotis Kontoleon, the competent Ministers, the head of ADAE Christos Rammos, the new Governor of the EYP Themistoklis Demiri and the appeals prosecutor responsible for the EYP Vasiliki Vlachou.
The Prime Minister is looking for a lifeline in a cockfight without evidence with Mr. Tsipras, while we, on the other hand, will insist on the debate with evidence so that the whole truth is revealed.
Based on the non-existent leaks of Megaros Maximos, will Mr. Mitsotakis hold the pre-day discussion at the level of leaders? Without having informed the Parliament the protagonists of the case?

PASOK-Movement for Change insists on institutional behavior and transparency, even though these dark actions were aimed at our President.
The truth will come to light and the culprits will be revealed because it is a matter of Democracy and respect for human rights.
We will not allow any attempt at a cover-up no matter how much the Prime Minister and the majority government try. It is not meant to be considered normality for the illegal hearing through EYP but also for the video recording through Predator politicians and journalists exposing the country internationally.
