Confirmed at Rock in Rio, Katy Perry gives clues about new album

Katy Perry gave clues about what her next album will be like in an interview with Access Hollywood on Monday (15), minutes after the singer participated in the Top 14 of the reality show American Idol.

The voice of “Firework” and “Roar” said that her seventh album will explore unexplored areas, as it comes from an unprecedented place of love and happiness.

“I still haven't managed to record an album where I feel really happy, complete and full of love”, said Katy. “Sometimes artists are like, 'Oh, that's boring, you want to make music in a harder place,' but really, [o novo álbum] It's very bright and cheerful, pure joy and fun. Playful and celebratory, a party,” she declared.

Katy Perry has not released an album since “Smile”, from 2020, which reflects the moments of depression she went through and portrays a breakup with Orlando Bloom. On the cover, she appears wearing a clown nose with a sad expression.

The lead single is “Daisies”, a name that reappears months after the song’s release in Katy’s life when she baptizes her daughter after Daisy actor Dove Bloom.

The singer is one of the confirmed attractions at Rock in Rio and will sing at the festival on December 20th, when Karol G, Cyndi Lauper, Ivete Sangalo, Iza, Gloria Gaynor and Tyla will also perform.
