Conflict between Israel and Hamas is experiencing a “dubious moment”, says professor

The conflict between Israel and Hamas is experiencing a “dubious moment”, in the assessment of professor of international relations at UFRJ Fernando Brancoli.

A CNN Radio he explained that there is an increase in violence, with the end of the truce, and attacks in Jerusalem.

However, “there is a little hope, as the days of ceasefire indicate the establishment of dialogue between Israelis and members of Hamas.”

The professor highlighted that this happens “despite a longer truce being further away.”

In this context, Brancoli assesses that there will be complications in repatriating Brazilians and family members who are in the Gaza Strip.

“There is an extra complication to this list, in addition to leaving after the end of the ceasefire, which is the fact that relatives are also on the list in question,” he said.

According to the expert, Israel can offer barriers in this regard, which interferes with the process and “there is no guarantee that they will leave”.
