A congratulatory letter to the newly elected President of PASOK – Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis was sent by the head of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation (FES), former President of the European Parliament from the Group of Socialists and Democrats and the Social Democrats Martin Schultz.
In his letter, Schultz states:
Dear friend Nikos,
As President of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), I would like to congratulate you on your election as the new President of Kinal – PASOK. I wish you good luck.
Your election is a very encouraging sign for the relationship between the Social Democratic Movements in Greece and Germany – in both countries, as the Social Democrats have a long, common history and close ties. It will also contribute to a stronger Social Democratic Movement at European level. Your experience and especially your work in the European Parliament have shown that you are an inspired European, ready to focus on the challenges facing the European Union.
Since the establishment of the FES office in Greece in 2012, the cooperation between Greek and German Social Democrats is constantly intensifying. The FES team in Athens looks forward to fruitful and close cooperation with the Greek Social Democrats under your leadership. Please do not hesitate to contact me and the director of our office in Athens, Mr. Arne Schildberg, so that we can discuss future synergies.
I look forward to seeing you soon,
Sincerely,
Martin Schultz
