A new legislative initiative in the US Congress aims to institutionally shield US interest in promoting the East-Europe-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), with particular emphasis on the Eastern Mediterranean region. Entitled “Law on the Eastern Mediterranean as a strategic gateway”, the bill tabled by Illinois Brat Schneider is turning to American interest in critical infrastructure of the IMEC countries, such as Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Israel.
