Congressional savings packages are “fiscally responsible,” says Yellen

The investment packages that are being processed in the US Congress are “fiscally responsible”, assured the secretary of the Treasury of the USA, Janet Yellen, in a statement released this Thursday (4).

According to her, the proposals make the tax code fairer by making the wealthier classes and large companies pay a volume of taxes consistent with the level of income.

“The Build Back Better package’s investment and revenue provisions would raise more than $2 trillion in offsets, making the entire package pay off over ten years and would reduce deficits in the long run,” said the secretary.

Yellen He said the legislation represents a “historic opportunity” to reduce costs for families, generate good jobs and increase long-term economic growth.
