Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna, who participated in a discussion at the Bitcoin MENA 2024 conference in Abu Dhabi, said that opposing Bitcoin is stupid.

Ro Khanna believes that members of the US Democratic Party should change their official anti-cryptocurrency rhetoric. If a party claims to stand for the interests of America’s future generation, then something as significant as Bitcoin cannot be ignored.

He noted that in countries with authoritarian rule and inflationary economies, Bitcoin can serve not only as a symbol of freedom, but also as a means of transaction or store of value. Therefore, his party must develop and maintain American leadership in this sector.

“Being against Bitcoin is like being against a cell phone, laptop or semiconductors. Bitcoin is a technology of freedom. We cannot campaign saying we are the party of the future, of freedom, and at the same time ignore Bitcoin,” says Ro Khanna.

Earlier, financial analyst and convinced cryptoskeptic Peter Schiff called Bitcoin “American public enemy number one” and appealed to the outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden with a proposal to sell the entire stock of confiscated BTC.
