Connect speakers and rock the party with Soundcore PartyCast

FROM partycast the same music plays on multiple speakers in perfect sync and without complex setup. Today we will check the technology in practice and understand its intricacies. Especially for this, I have three different Soundcore speakers on my desk, since any compatible models can be connected to the PatryCast network. The party-monster Rave PartyCast, home CD Flare II and pocket mini Mini 3 Pro are on the list. At the end of the article, we will get acquainted with each in more detail.

When is PartyCast Really Useful?

The technology connects several speakers into a network and synchronizes playback as if it were a single audio system. At the same time, PartyCast equalizes the volume and, according to promises, controls the color illumination of the speakers. In total, more than 100 devices can be connected, that is, there is no practical limit.

The main purpose of such an association is noisy parties. It is enough to ask a couple of friends to grab their Soundcore and you can rock it to powerful accompaniment without professional equipment. Partying can take place both at home and outdoors, as Soundcore speakers have moisture protection. For example, the IPX7 standard on my speakers says full protection against water ingress. That is, the device will remain serviceable even after falling into the water.

Rave PartyCast, by the way, pumps the party and alone

In everyday life, I placed speakers around the apartment and listened to music everywhere when I was doing household chores. I was even lucky with the form factors of the whole trinity: the Rave PartyCast took its place in the main room, the Flare II settled in the kitchen, and the Mini 3 Pro went to the bathroom. The same thing can be done in a country house or in a private house, when you constantly move between floors and go out into the street. So, by the way, it’s impossible to miss a call, because at that moment the music stops, and the ringtone starts playing from everywhere.

I also liked the idea of placing speakers around me while working at the computer. Two small left and right on the table, the largest behind the back to be in the center of the thick of the sound. The effect is impressive, because PatryCast very competently equalizes different models in terms of volume, and the speakers do not shout out to each other, but play as evenly as possible. Each speaker is completely self-sufficient in solo, but when working together, strengths come to the fore. A healthy Rave PartyCast delivers better bass, the Flare II brings out the mid-range, and the Mini 3 Pro has a jaunty third speaker for even more drive. That is, a complementary overall picture is obtained.

The proprietary application continues to work

Each speaker remains in mono or stereo depending on the model, so taking two identical speakers, placing them on the sides and getting a stereo system will not work. The left and right channels will be played equally from all sides.

Connection and technical nuances

You can combine different Soundcore systems with PartyCast support. Incompatible models belong to the old series and represent a disappearing minority. First you need to decide on the leading column and connect it to your smartphone. This can be done both via Bluetooth, and via AUX or RCA, depending on the specific model. I chose Rave PartyCast and wireless connection. After that, the leading column must be switched to PartyCast mode. This moment for each model is arranged in its own way, but everywhere it is no more difficult than holding one of the buttons for three seconds. Then all the slave speakers are connected in series by holding one of the buttons for 2-3 seconds. The procedure is very simple and otherwise automatic, PartyCast does all the work for the user.

The Rave PartyCast has a separate button for pairing, the rest is responsible for the Bluetooth key

And you know, it really works as advertised. The sound is synchronous without lags and artifacts. If we return to the example from the beginning of the article, the music on the two phones was turned on absolutely at the same time. Nothing changes if the columns are spaced a long distance from each other. That is, ideas for placement are limited by imagination and the range of Bluetooth. If only the smartphone was not far from the main speaker.

Without illumination, the view of the Trinity is calm and without pretentious details.

You can switch tracks and adjust the volume on your smartphone or with the buttons on the control panel of the main speaker. The volume, as noted above, is equalized very competently. But the declared backlight synchronization does not work no matter how you switch modes in the application. The ability to turn off the glow with the button on individual columns remains. The equalizer in the application is switched only at the main speaker, there is simply no access to additional settings. However, attention to detail still has not been done. If you turn off the main speaker, all the others will also turn off synchronously. Brilliant! No need to walk around the apartment and hold the power key on all devices.

More about each audio system

In the course of the article, I have already characterized each of the columns that fell into my hands. However, I would like to talk about the purpose of each of them in more detail. In the meantime, a few words about the proprietary application. Here you can change the backlight, and adjust the equalizer. As an extra feature, there are simple party games: truth or dare, spin the bottle and categories. Interactive is accompanied by flashing backlight.

Application on the example of Rave PartyCast

Rave PatryCast

In terms of format, this is a descendant of the same boomboxes that were previously customary to wear and listen to on the shoulder. An excellent solution for a party of any size, and even at home alone, listening to such an audio system is a pleasure. The case is made of good plastic, and the grilles on the speakers are metal. Thanks to the elastic rubber feet, there is no vibration or rattling, no matter how loud the volume is. The assembly is reliable, for example, it is absolutely not scary to take the handle from above. Additional features include AUX for wired connection and USB for charging other devices.

Boombox can be laid on its side thanks to additional rubber feet

The audio part is represented by two active speakers in the front (although there are three of them in appearance) and a passive radiator to amplify the bass in the back. One large 80W woofer, one tweeter and a large passive diaphragm. The character turned out to be appropriately explosive with a powerful all-encompassing bass, which is what is required for a noisy party. There is a lack of a separate midrange driver that fills the sound with volume and small accents, but this is the lot of much more expensive professional equipment. Partially, the lack can be brightened up with an equalizer.

Flare II

To understand the format of this column, I will compare it with the JBL Pulse 4. They have similar dimensions, and the total power is identical (20 W), and the backlight is equally bright. A versatile home option when there is not much space to store large equipment. Yes, and you can take Flare II to nature. The case is wrapped in acoustic fabric on all sides, and a pair of speakers are directed in such a way that the sound spreads 360 degrees. If you put it in the center, the music will be equally well distinguishable in all corners of the room. The character, by the way, is quite balanced and pleasant: the middle plays the main role, and a very soft bass complements the picture, there is no strong failure at the top. Customizing the sound for yourself is not a problem, the system is very malleable to adjustments. For example, it can be made to give out a tighter bass or further strengthen the middle for saturation.

Behind a thick rubber plug is USB-C

Mini 3 Pro

And finally, a lively baby, which is ideal to take everywhere with you. She impressed me with her punchy bass. It makes the table tremble but doesn’t rattle thanks to its optimal weight and cool rubberized base that sticks to flat surfaces. For a single 6 W speaker, the result is amazing, I consider complaints about a slightly littered middle to be inappropriate. By the way, the equalizer also has more restrained presets with fewer low frequencies.

And what is the result?

To summarize my impressions of PartyCast, I was pleased with the technology. The very fact of playing music in sync on several speakers is impressive, and Soundcore also did everything right. I’m talking about ease of connection, smart synchronization, volume equalization and other small features. Moreover, PartyCast has taken root in my daily life. As I wrote above, I sometimes arrange speakers around the desktop and work, immersing myself in music to the fullest. In general, the presence of such chips as synchronization is an excellent argument in favor of buying the second and third Soundcore speakers in the family.

Let me take a look at all three again.

As for the Rave PartyCast, Flare II and Mini 3 Pro, I liked the soundcore quality. You take any of the trinity in your hands and you understand – a quality thing. The inexpensive Mini 3 Pro is made just as cool as the much more expensive Rave PartyCast boombox. Attract and common chips like moisture protection, lighting, control panel. All of the above speaks about the approach, and this is important.
