The new ad, from the group Veterans On Duty, features a clip of Vice President Harris in a 2021 interview with CNN discussing their role in the government’s handling of the withdrawal.
“They’ve been tested and failed. Here’s the reality of Kamala Harris’s record. Terrorists crossing our beloved southern border deal with America’s enemies. A deadly and costly exit from Afghanistan,” the ad’s narrator says plainly, before the clip.
“This is the true cost of Kamala Harris’ failed leadership. Tell Vice President Harris it’s time to protect our national security,” the ad warns.
The ad began airing on cable news stations in the Washington, D.C., media market — not targeting battleground voters but rather elected officials, members of the media and influencers in the nation’s capital, likely with the goal of shaping the conversation around the third anniversary of the heavily criticized withdrawal this week.
