SK hynix completed the construction of the M16 plant, which began in December 2018. A total of 3.5 trillion won were invested in the project, and it was completed in just 25 months.
The area of the premises of the enterprise, which will be mainly occupied by the production of DRAM, is 57,000 m22… The plant is 336 m long, 163 m wide, and 105 m high, it roughly corresponds to a 37-storey residential building. It is the largest SK hynix production site.

An even more striking feature of the M16 is the fact that SK hynix is here for the first time using equipment for lithography in the hard ultraviolet (EUV) range. Release of 1a nm DRAM using EUV lithography is scheduled to begin in the second half of this year.
The manufacturer recalls the Future Vision plan, which provided for the construction of three new factories over 10 years, starting in 2014. The first plant – M14 – was built in 2015, the second – M15 – in 2018. By building the M16 this year, the manufacturer met its plan three years ahead of schedule.
