The Construction Industry Survey, released this Monday (21) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), points out that the activity level index in February was the best in 10 years.
The indicator dropped to 48.2 points, below the 50-point line (which signals a decline in activity), but even so, it was only below that of February 2012 (49.4 points).
In relation to the Businessman Confidence Index (ICEI) of the construction industry, there was a drop of 1.3 points, to 55.3 points. Even with the setback, expectations are still positive according to the CNI methodology.
“Despite the retreat, all indicators of expectations remain historically high. The investment intention for the next six months registered the highest value for the period since 2014”, points out the CNI, which highlights confidence among entrepreneurs.
According to the survey, the construction industry investment intention index rose 1 point to 44.6 points, setting the highest value since 2014 for the month.
The sector entrepreneur expects for the next six months an increase in the level of activity, in the number of new ventures and services, in the purchase of inputs and in the number of employees.
A total of 395 companies were interviewed: 143 small, 172 medium and 80 large, between March 3 and 11.
