Inflation in Russia has accelerated sharply amid falling rubles to an all-time low and signs of growing demand for a wide range of goods, from staple foods to cars, on the expectation that prices will rise further.
In the week to March 11, prices for almost everything from baby food to pharmaceuticals rose sharply, with prices for sugar and tomatoes rising more than 12%, Rosstat data showed.
