Consumption in Brazilian Homes accumulates a high of 2.84% from January to September this year.
In September, household consumption was influenced by the fall in food prices and the indicator closed the month up 0.39% compared to August.
In comparison with the same period in 2021, the increase is 11.19%.
The data are from the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Abras) and the values are deflated by the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
For the year 2022, Abras forecasts accumulated growth of up to 3.3%.
“The trend is for more consistent consumption in the coming months, driven mainly by the increase in the consumption of proteins and other items that have returned to the consumer’s supply basket in the face of the deflation registered in the last three months”, says the Institutional Vice President from ABRAS, Marcio Milan.
