AVAX SA announced today that it participates in the consortium which signed a contract with EYDAP for the Operation & Maintenance of the Psyttalia Wastewater Treatment Center (KELD).
The contract has a value of € 174.9 million (including VAT) and a duration of 5 years, with an option for its annual extension (worth € 34.3 million including VAT).
AVAX participates with a percentage of 40% in the consortium, which also includes the companies AKTOR (40%) and ERGOTEM (20%).
It is pointed out that the AVAX Group has a continuous presence in KELD since the 1980s through ATHENS ATE (which has been fully absorbed by the Group in 2018), initially with the construction, operation and maintenance of the first phase of infrastructure projects and facilities. The completion of the next two phases of construction of the facilities of KELD was done in a joint venture with AKTOR, with which since then they have shared the operation and maintenance of the Center.
KELD is one of the largest wastewater treatment centers in Europe and internationally, with a capacity to cover a population of 5,600,000 inhabitants, and an average supply of incoming wastewater of 730,000 sq.m. per day.
