Corinth Pipeworks: Contract for the supply of desalinated water pipeline for a copper mine in Chile

Compañía Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi (CMDIC) has awarded CPW America Co, a subsidiary of Corinth Pipeworks, the steel pipe industry of Cenergy Holdings, a contract for the supply of 109,000 tonnes of pipe, with exterior and interior lining, and (induction bends) for the project P186 Fuente Hídrica Complementaria (FHC).

According to a relevant announcement, the contract concerns approximately 201 km of straight seam submerged arc steel pipes (LSAW), with a diameter of 44 inches, which will include a three-layer polyethylene outer lining and an FBE inner lining.

The construction of the pipes will take place at the company’s facilities in Greece, then the pipes will be transported to Saudi Arabia for internal and external investment and will be delivered to Chile in 2022 and 2023 for the final installation. It is noted that this pipeline is necessary for the copper mine in order to upgrade and ensure its long-term production.
