Corinthians announced, this Wednesday (15), the return of defensive midfielder Paulinho, as a reinforcement for the 2022 season.
The player, who participated in the successful campaign of the Libertadores and Mundial de Clubes 2012, signed a contract with the club from January 2022 until December 2023.
“Speak, Faithful! Paulinho speaking here. The warrior is back, next year the animal will catch. I count on your presence and let’s go. We are together, great end of the year for you”, declared Paulinho in a video shared on Corinthians’ social networks.
The player signed the contract this Wednesday morning (15), at Parque São Jorge, to the sound of the siren – a tradition to announce the arrival of reinforcements at the club.
The hiring of Paulinho was made possible by a new partnership between Corinthians and a company in the agro sector. A new sponsor, Grupo Taunsa signed an agreement that provides for social, marketing and communication actions with the club.
Headquartered in Campinas, Taunsa has provided for in Paulinho’s contract the participation in the club’s content, physical and digital properties, as well as activations to be announced soon.
“I am sure that Fiel will welcome this personalized Corinthians innovation in the return of Paulinho, an idol, a player who respects our shirt and who is the face of Corinthians,” said Duilio Monteiro Alves, president of Corinthians.
“And this is just the beginning, as it is a great partnership, which will be present in several actions and from which we will build together the future of our club”, he added.
Idol of Corinthians, Paulinho participated in the titles of the 2011 Brasileirão, the 2013 Paulistão, the Libertadores and the 2012 Club World Cup. The 33-year-old player has accumulated 167 games and 34 goals with the Alvinegra shirt.
