Coronavirus: Belgium in a new lockdown for four weeks

In new λοκντάουν enters the Belgium. Prime Minister Alexander Der Crowe announced new measures that will take effect on the afternoon of Friday, March 26, and will remain in force for at least four weeks.

The Advisory Committee decided:

1. From Monday, classes at all levels of education will be suspended until April 2, while they are expected to reopen fully from April 19. Kindergartens can be left open.

2. From Saturday, non-medical contact professions such as hairdressers and beauty salons will close.

3. Unnecessary stores can accept customers only by appointment. Home deliveries and pick-up options are possible if there is no physical contact and no entry to the store.

4. Citizens will be allowed to meet outdoors only in groups of four (excluding children under 12).

5. The number of participants for static demonstrations will be limited to 50.

  1. Teleworking remains mandatory and there will be “additional controls and stricter sanctions” for companies that do not follow the rule.
  2. The ban on unnecessary travel will remain in force.
