Coronavirus – Belgium: Proposal to close nightclubs where measures cannot be complied with

The closure of nightclubs where distances can not be observed, as well as teleworking until Christmas, is expected to propose to his government Belgium the domestic Committee of Experts on coronavirus, according to today’s publication of the French-language newspaper “Le Soir”.

The committee of experts is also expected to propose the mandatory use mask from the age of 9 (compared to the current 12 years), as the goal is to keep schools open until the Christmas holidays.

The cinemas, τα theaters and others spectacle venues will remain open, however it will be mandatory to use the mask and enter with the health certificate “CovidSafeTicket”.

The Commission will propose intensifying them vaccinations with a third dose of people over 65 years and those who belong to vulnerable categories.

The Christmas shopping will work, but entry will only be allowed with the CovidSafeTicket demo.

Finally, the most important measure proposed is compulsory teleworking until Christmas so that there is decongestion in the means of transport and reduction of social contacts.

The proposals of the committee of experts will be discussed at the meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Belgian Government to be held on November 17.

More than 500 patients in the ICU

Besides, the Belgian Minister of Health Frank Vadenbrucke said yesterday, Sunday, on the Flemish television network VTM News that “the psychological milestone of the 500 patients with Covid in the intensive care unit has been exceeded”.

However, in order to keep the nightclubs open, the “Covid Safe Ticket” will no longer be enough, said the Minister of Health, noting that in his opinion the nightclubs should only vaccinated people should be admitted.
