Coronavirus. EU allows children over 12 years of age to be vaccinated with Pfizer

The European Commission has approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for children 12 to 15 years old. This was announced by European Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides on Twitter.

The countries of the European Union will now be able to vaccinate against the coronavirus with Pfizer-BioNTech for adolescents, Kyriakides said. The decision to vaccinate children 12-15 years old in each EU country will be taken independently.

Kyriakides added that “every dose is important to end the crisis.”
