Coronavirus – France: Record pandemic with nearly 100,000 infections

New record of infections by coronavirus recorded today Friday (24/12) the France, with the total number of cases approaching 100,000, which forced the government to convene an emergency meeting on the pandemic on Monday to discuss the possibility of taking further action.

Today, the Ministry of Health announced 94,124 new cases while the number of patients reached a seven-month high, at 16,200, according to APE-MPE.

In the last 24 hours another 167 people died from Covid-19, bringing the total number of victims to 122,462 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The total number of cases is 8.98 million, which ranks France seventh in the world.

Earlier today, the Elysee announced that President Emanuel Macron will convene a meeting on Covid-19 on Monday, at 17.00 (Greek time) and will be followed by a cabinet meeting.
