Coronavirus: Germany puts the US, Turkey and Israel at high risk

Measures aimed at preventing its further spread coronavirus received by the German Government. On Friday (13/8) characterized the USA, Turkey and Israel as high risk countries, resulting in unvaccinated travelers arriving from them must be quarantined at least five days.

The new measure to be implemented became known to the FUNKE media group, which cites government sources.

The upgrade, according to the Athens News Agency, also affects Montenegro and Vietnam, while Portugal has been downgraded and is no longer a high-risk area, with the exception of Lisbon and the Algarve, according to Funke.

The upgrade will take effect on Sunday, except in the case of Turkey, which will take effect on Tuesday night, given the large number of people of Turkish descent living in Germany, Funke said, citing government sources.

The travelers from high-risk countries must be quarantined for ten days, unless they can prove that they have been vaccinated or that they have recovered from Covid-19. Their self-isolation may end at the earliest after five days with a negative test.
