Coronavirus – Israel: Third installment for all citizens aged 40 and over

The Israel decided to reduce to 40 years the minimum age for granting a third dose of vaccine against the young coronavirus, in order to stop the increase in infections associated with Delta variant, announced tonight (19/8) the Minister of Health of the country.

“We have vaccines for everyone and now citizens of all ages 40 years and over “They can take a third dose,” he wrote in a tweet Nijan Horovic. “The vaccine is effective. “Let’s stop Delta”, he added, as broadcast by APE BPE.

A boot of vaccine for Israelis at least 40 years of age is expected to begin in Sunday.

It is recalled that Israel began to provide third installments to citizens over 60 years τον July, later reducing the minimum age of eligibility to 50 years and offering supportive installments to health and other workers.

Tonight the Prime Minister of Israel Naftali Bennett, 49 years old, announced that he will be vaccinated and himself with a third dose.

In total, more than 970.000 Covid-19 cases have been reported in Israel, as well as more than 6.700 deaths.

Over 5.4 million people have received two doses of vaccine, namely the 58% of the population and approx 1.2 million a third.
