Coronavirus – Italy: Extension of compulsory vaccination considered

According to data from the Gimbe Research Institute, from 1 August until today (23/8), in Italy 250,000 doses were administered vaccine against coronavirus per day, on average.

That is, it was recorded as important reduction, since in July the corresponding number was 500,000 doses per day, according to the response of APE BPE from Rome.

At the same time, the latest figures from the Italian authorities show that 33% of the population over 12 years, so far has not received neither the first dose of covid-19 preparations.

It is recalled that the Special Commissioner responsible for the vaccination campaign, General Francesco Filiolo, has targeted his vaccination 80% of the inhabitants of the country until the end of September.

As the Italian press writes today, according to the APE BPE, if by mid-September the rate of vaccination does not increase, it is possible that new measures will be taken, including the expansion of vaccination obligation to all civil servants.

Referring to the intentions of the Draghi government, the Italian Deputy Minister of Health Pierpaolo Sileri “If we do not reach our target of 80% vaccination by September 15, we should consider a mandatory form of anti-covid drugs,” he told La Stampa today.

Until now, compulsory vaccination in Italy has been decided only for workers in private and public hospitals and doctor’s offices, as for them teachers, teachers and Administrative staff of schools.
