Coronavirus – Italy: More than 20,000 24-hour cases – 118 new deaths

The last twenty-four hours in Italy were recorded 20.497 cases coronavirus while 118 people lost their lives. The number of infections is higher from the 3 of last April.

Overall, they took place 716.287 diagnostic tests, the 2,8% from which they emerged positively, transmits the ΑΠΕ ΜΠΕ.

At the same time, they are located in the intensive care units of the country 816 patients with Covid-19 while in hospital wards are 6.483.

Next week the vaccination of children 5 – 11 years old

The special commissioner for the management of the vaccination campaign, General Francesco Filiolo, confirmed that their vaccinations children 5 to 11 years old, is going to start on December 16th.

Italy has so far provided 1.5 million installments for these grants. Priority will be given to children with chronic diseases and those with immunocompromised relatives.

The Italian Higher Institute of Health emphasizes, however, that the vaccine reduces by 91% the risk of transmitting the virus to children, and that it should be borne in mind that with the vaccine shield, students aged 5 to 11 will be able to go to much safer schools and, of course, that – always in safe conditions – they will be able to continue to play sports and socialize with their peers outside of school hours.

For mandatory vaccination in the workplace

In the meantime, La Stampa refers to plans of the government of Mario Draghi, if cases and hospital admissions continue to rise and the country’s health system comes under pressure. According to the newspaper, in this case the government of Rome will extend the use of the “super green pass” in the workplace.

Which means that in order to be able to go to work, one must – must – have a vaccination certificate.
