Coronavirus – Italy: Night traffic ban to be lifted at end of June

Mario Draghi’s government intends to reschedule to 11pm (from 10am now) Curfew and abolish it completely on June 21st. This emerged, according to the press, from the meeting of the Italian technocratic prime minister with the competent ministers, which is being completed at the moment.

Immediately after, the full cabinet meeting will begin, to formalize the decisions. At the same time, as it leaked, on June 7, a further reduction of the traffic ban is expected, which will start at midnight and end at five in the morning.

“I believe that our final decisions will take into account the overall improvement of the situation from an epidemiological point of view. The direction we will follow is that of further relaxation of the measures “, said the Italian Minister of Labor, Andrea Orlando.

3,455 coronavirus cases and 140 deaths in the country

In the last 24 hours in Italy, 3,455 cases of coronavirus have been recorded and 140 people have lost their lives. Yesterday the cases were 5,753, with 93 deaths. In total, 118,924 diagnostic tests were performed, 2.9% of which were positive. Yesterday, the corresponding percentage was 2.8%. It is recalled, however, that, as always, a reduced number of tests are performed during the weekend, compared to the other days of the week.

There are 25 fewer patients in the intensive care units of the country since yesterday. In terms of the areas with the most daily cases, in the first place is the region of Lombardy (675), followed by Campania (550) with Naples as its capital and Lazio (388) with Rome as its capital.
