The Dutch gendarmerie announced on Sunday night that it had arrested earlier in a passenger plane at Schiphol International Airport Amsterdam couple who had “escaped” from a hotel in which passengers from South Africa who were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus were quarantined.
“The arrests were made while the plane was preparing to take off,” the gendarmerie explained via Twitter, adding that the couple had surrendered to health authorities.
