Coronavirus: New strain of the virus from Japan appeared in a nursing home in Kentucky

A new executive coronavirus was found in a nursing home in Kentucky USA, which has infected 45 inmates and workers. The stem shows five mutations found in other executives, according to Newsweek, as well as additional unknown executives.

Some of the inmates at nursing home it was fully vaccinated but the advanced coronavirus strain was able to bypass antibody protection.

According to an investigation by the Kentucky Department of Public Health, an unvaccinated worker was the one who caused the outbreak in early March.

According to a Forbes article, this strain, named «R.1», was first identified in Japan and has infected more than 10,000 people worldwide.

That said mutation has the same protein spike found in the Beta, Gamma, Eta, Iota and Mu mutations.
